In high school...

In college...In college, like so many others, I fell into the grip of diet culture and disordered eating. I started trying to eat as "healthy" as possible to be as thin as possible without listening to my body (which was hungry ALL THE TIME, btw). And it worked...I was as thin as I had ever been, and also as miserable as I had ever been! Can I tell you a secret about this picture? Even though I'm smiling and on the beach (which is no small thing for a girl from Nebraska), what I remember most from this trip was how my thoughts were consumed by delicious-looking cookies I had bought, but wouldn't let myself eat. I don't want that for you, or for your child!
My nutrition education during graduate school saved me! This is where I learned about all the amazing BENEFITS of food, even fun foods like those (what I am sure would have been delicious) cookies! Now, it is my absolute passion to teach you about how all foods can fit into a healthy nutrition plan, about how food can bring you joy, and how to avoid the trap of diet culture. |

Now, I am the founder and owner of Danielle Moran Performance Nutrition, LLC. I provide 1:1 nutrition coaching to help athletes feel and perform at their best while restoring or maintaining unity around the dinner table! If I am not working with amazing clients, you can find me spending quality time with my family and husband, on a walk, cooking/baking, at the zoo, or at a pumpkin patch.
